REINZ real estate agent guidelines for Level 3

REINZ are pleased to let you know that they have now received Ministerial sign-off on our Alert Level 3 Guidelines for the real estate profession. To make things easy, we have broken the guides down into Residential Sales, Commercial Sales, Rural/Lifestyle Sales, Commercial Leasing and Residential Property Management.

REINZ has been working closely with the with Ministers, WorkSafe, MBIE, the Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Justice and the REA to develop these guidelines to ensure we have consistency across the industry.

In order to operate under Alert Level 3, all real estate agencies must have a COVID-19 safety plan in place that sets out how they’ll operate safely. Under Alert Level 3, all real estate work must still occur remotely wherever possible. Here is a poster that you can place on your office doors to direct customers to contact you remotely.

The details of your safety plan must be communicated to all real estate agents and staff within your agencies before starting work under Level 3. Your plan must also include processes for how you will deal with a suspected or actual case of COVID-19.

More information and a template safety plan is available here. These guidelines can form part of your safety plans, amended to suit your business.
